Grandpap was in WW II, Grandmother was stationed in Papua New Guinea for the same. Dad was in the army during Vietnam but stationed in Germany. Grew up going to school on a Naval Base. I have a lot of respect for those that can and do serve. It's hard work, a huge commitment, and a complicated way to live.
Yes - my brother, a 2nd LT, USMC. In summer of 2007, he decided to join the Marines through officer candidate school, and started working out hard and running in order to pass the physical test. I saw that dedication and wanted to give it a shot (the fitness aspect).
I currently work for the Naval Sea Systems Command, for whom I do research on gas separations and water treatment. Our group is also working on a fuel cell-based tactical generator for the USMC. Knowing that I'll be able to help by making clean power or water is a great motivation.

It was good meeting you Steph. Keep up the hard work. Thanks for the nice words on Steve's Club.
I spent two years at the United States Air Force Academy before I bailed... so many of my former classmates from the Class of 2000 are stationed overseas and have been deployed numerous times. I am very thankful for their service.
